Croatia was seen for some time as one of the countries which will not endorse the Pact. Again and again it was described as one of the countries to pull out of the Pact.
Its President, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, is against the Pact and refuses to go to Marrakesh in December to represent Croatia there. However, the Croatian Government is behind the Pact.
Thus, now the plan is to send Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic to represent the country at the Marrakesh conference, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said on Friday (16.11.2018).
Differences about the Pact among high level officials and Government representatives, similar to the Croatian situation, resulted in a government crisis in Estonia, where some Government Ministers are against the Pact while others—including the Prime Minister—are for backing the Plan. The President of Estonia, Kersti Kaljulaid, said that she will not go to Marrakesh to endorse the Pact if there is no agreement in the Government about it.
The conference in Marrakesh is scheduled for December 10-11.
